Classically trained at the piano since the age of 4, Daria developed her piano skills and love for music in college. She graduated from Florida State University's College of Music, where she studied piano, world music, and jazz. Daria developed styles of her own from a fusion of her musical background. During her final year at FSU, she put together en EP, designed to demonstrate her diverse musical interests. This D.I.Y. effort was recorded, produced, mixed and edited by Dzurik and Graham Robinson in their home studio, and was put up for digital distribution and local sales. Based on the success of the EP, both decided to record a full length album at an acclaimed recording studio in New Orleans called "Calliope." While recording Daria formed her backing band "The Hip Drops", a group of talented musicians that accompany her for live concerts and some recordings.
