One day, the pianist for a local jazz group wandered by, listened for a moment, and then explained that he liked her style. He needed another singer for a show that night at a local club. hey,

I wanted to chat with you about the 230 sites you were referring to on the forum board. I would really love to pick your brain about those sites, as I am losing enchantment with this one as well after the new point losses. Could you write back? or myspace me at www.myspace.com/anjmusic.

thanks,
Anj

Very sorry to see your notice about leaving. I can't do MySpace, so I'll just thank you for the music.

Hopefully, your martyrdom will instigate, if not inspire, sam and james to actually learn to frigging talk to people instead of the typical Web2.0 "You'll get over it" shitty attitude.

Good luck to you, Alyse.

Hi Alyse,
This new track Life as a Rose cured me of my indie rock blues.
Thank you

I'm so glad you came to theSixtyOne! We need some more quality jazz vocalists here. I've taken a huge particular liking to "Stood for Stand for." I can see why it won the Billboard's Annual World Song Competition. Anyway, congratulations with all your success thus far and thanks for sharing your music with us. We look forward to hearing more from you! :-)

Alyse,

You’ve got a fan on my page that is considering me one lucky Sunflower to have a comment from you. I agree, I really enjoy your music and read your bio start to finish.

Last March I had a chance to visit Pike Place Market for the first time. Now when I talk about the market it won’t just be the place that Starbucks originated, but you too! It’s so much more interesting now.

News

"Black boldly channels Bjork, Billie, and Bush (Kate, not GW). Best yet, this jazzy, arty, oddball epic also sounds like Alyse Black more than any of her influences."
- Rocktober Magazine -

"Jazz winner Alyse Black brought her song “Stood For Stand For” into the realm of instant classic with smooth delivery and dynamic presence. Strikingly pretty with a voice to match, her recent move to Austin, Texas would mean the Lone Star State isn’t so ‘lone’ anymore."
- Billboard's Annual World Song Contest -

"Alyse is a pure heart and sensation. I am emotionally blown away by the simple, yet intertwining skill of voice and sound that is projected from this talented musician. She definitely is a pick for the private collection."
- Urban Mainstream Magazine -

"There are some voices that stop you in your tracks and make you listen, and Alyse Black is a great example."
- Eclectic Mix Podcast -

"Jazzy, with intricate acoustic accompaniment and catchy verses that are more lyrical than profound, the latest release from the Seattle-based singer/songwriter seems to echo deeply all of our past and present experiences with love, and, as a result, pushes us into that hazy rose-hued state of mind where sensuality is key and reality is just a dirty word... Black is a siren, her voice sultry and thick, dripping a sweet, husky softness that enchants and envelops."
