This year's most famous rising band, ANANAS, featuring acclaimed singer/songwriter Tal Meltzer, have been writing ear-pleasing, captivating music from the moment they left their mothers womb's more than eighteen years ago. Upon arrival to USC's Thornton school of music in 2008, Tal seeked to form a mega-band oozing with talent, eager to spread their awesome sound and upbeat lyrics. The band quickly became known as ANANAS, a reference to the of the word pineapple in various international dialects, a love the band members share in common. From the moment of conception, the band received a tremendous amount of fanfare and supporters, hypnotized by the music and sound of ANANAS. Formed in the notorious melting pot of music coming out of Southern California, ANANAS is composed of four talented members:

Singer/Songwriter, and poetry enthusiast, has the ability to seduce even the most prudent listener with his magnetic lyrics and melodious accompaniment on rhythm guitar. In fact, Tal won the seventh grade award for best english student given by his middle school english department, a feat he is very proud of.
Roy Paz, Newport local and renowned Casanova, began his career playing drumming gigs at Bar Mitzvahs, and at local clubs. He has played with several Orange County bands such as a Lethal Dose, Pain 4 Pleasure, Metallica, and many more...
James Jamail, wailing in from Austin, Texas has been known to undress nuns with his luscious array of tones. In fact, he was once on a ranch in texas wearing cow boy boots.
Dusty Black, a man with a name oozing in rockstarness, has had his bass playing compared to the Davinci Code and the invention of the wheel; both unique and astonishing entities.
Ananas'allure and charm received recognition from several major sources in 2008. Time Magazine called them the new "It Kid" and has dubbed them the "Next Big Thing in 2009." Additionally, Roy Paz was celebrated as "one of the 50 most eligible bachelors in the world" according to Vanity Fair's annual list. In 2009, the number of adoring fans and raving reviewers has only continued to grow. Newsweek's Fareed Zakaria is currently writing a piece on Ananas in which he describes the immense effects the band's music and positive lyrics has had in working towards international peace.
At the recent Academy Awards, several well-known celebrities were heard celebrating ANANAS' breakthrough year. Will Smith even complimented Tal's rapping skills, calling him a "G" and "the White Fresh Prince". The Wu Tang Clan was even quoted as saying "Ananas ain't nothing to Fuck wit".
