Arcati Crisis is the combination of Philadelphia-based singer-songwriters
Gina Martinelli and
Peter Marinari. They have been best friends for over a decade, co-writing songs and co-starring in plays ever since a chance encounter in the seventh grade.
As Arcati Crisis, Peter and Gina draw inspiration from indie rock, singer-songwriter folk, and eighties pop to craft their simpatico riffs and melodies.
Whether it's the slightly kitschy Armageddon referenced in Gina's bouncy "Fisher Price," the wry self-awareness of Peter's riffy "Standing," or the intricate harmony on covers like Neil Young's "Pocahontas," each song emanates the infectious joy and charm of friends doing their favorite thing - playing music together.
Live Arcati Crisis is frequently accompanied by special guest percussionist
Dante Bucci. Other guest performers have included Rob Smith (drums), Elise Wei (clarinet), and Jason Hinebaugh (cello).
