Birds of Tokyo are a 4-piece band from Perth, Western Australia. It all started in early 2005 when the band released its debut self-titled EP, and later released the double A-Side One Way/Stay.

The band first full-length album, Day One, was released early February 2007, featuring three radio tracks and the Hottest 100 #61 track Wayside. Their second album Universes was released on the 5th of July, 2008.
It debuted as the number 3 album on the ARIA charts for the week of July 14th and stayed in the top 20 for a further 12-weeks.

After an extensive album tour throughout Australia, a slot on the national BIG DAY OUT festival and three songs in the 2008 HOTTEST 100 (#20 Broken Bones :: #22 Silhouettic & #51 Wild Eyed Boy) the album accredited GOLD status in Australia in January 2009.

Birds of Tokyo are now setting off on their Wild Eyed Boy tour throughout Australia in March 2009 before heading to the South By South West Festival in Austin TX and performing a showcase at the Viper Room in LA.
