just wanted to say thanks for getting my tune "forget about you" to the main page. as a thanks for listening, i made the unreleased covers stuff downloadable for ya. i just uploaded a track called "waiting for your letter" from my second EP as well as a cover of spandau ballet's 80's pop tune "true" that i recorded for a soundtrack. ok, back to the studio to make more tunes.

hey, guys...

i just took over the account that was already up here for me and added a bunch of new stuff, including (officially) unreleased covers. i'm in the studio working on the new record right now back home in LA, so in my downtime i've been able to go around to sites that other people have been running for me and get them all up to date. hopefully, this new record will be out in the fall, and then i'll get back out on the road again, too.

if anyone's interested, you can find me here, too...

biography
Cary Brothers is an indie rock American singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Brothers is best known for the single "Blue Eyes", which was featured on the soundtrack to the 2004 film Garden State.

With his songs influenced by everything from 1980s British New Wave music to 1970s folk music, Brothers has achieved critical and commercial success with his independent releases All the Rage and Waiting for Your Letter, both of which reached the top of the iTunes folk charts. "Blue Eyes" has been downloaded over 100,000 times and broke the Top Fifty on the iTunes singles chart. On the web, Brothers has found success on MySpace, where he has over 7 million plays on his music page.

While many artists focus their efforts mostly on radio exposure, Brothers went a slightly different route and pushed to get songs out to the public through film and television shows, leading a generation of similar-minded indie artists in the United States. Brothers' songs have appeared on the NBC sitcom Scrubs," the FOX mystery Bones," the WB's Smallville," ABC Family's show Kyle XY, "One Tree Hill," and the medical dramas Grey's Anatomy and ER." The original version of Brothers' song "Ride" appeare... (+) expand

Wow! I always thought someone should do a remake of "Only You" by Yaz. Thank you. Very nice. That song has so much potential.

Very good work on "If You Were Here"! A very cool take on a great song; I'm not sure I can decide which I like better.

Cary Brothers' is the shiznit. Also, I served him dinner back when I was a waitress at a famous steakhouse (although he probably doesn't remember) and I have to say, that he was just as cool in person as he is in song.
