D-Shade is one of the founding members of Shades of Culture a Canadian hip hop trio based in Montreal whom are regarded as one of the pioneers of the Canadian hip hop scene. Alongside his band mates, "Shade” has recorded several demo tapes and partook in multiple major Canadian tours alongsideHerbalizer, Bad Brains, The Backstreet Boys, SNFU, Ten Foot Pole and several other popular underground and mainstream acts. In addition the group has released an EP entitled Paying Rent and one full-length album entitled Mindstatewhich went on to garner much acclaim due to the lead off video aptly named after the album featuring Desi DiLauro, gaining heavy rotation on Muchmusic, MusiquePlus, BET and MTV.

As of late D-Shade has made major stride as a solo act hooking up with many different entities including DJ A-Trak & Dave One’s (Chromeo) Audio Research Records and The Narcycist. Shade has also toured France extensively with instrumental fusion band PawaUpFirst as well as performed at major festivals such as The Montreal Jazz Festival and “Under Pressure Festival”.
