The electric om gang [electric om&dUKe;] is joining electric bass, keys, guitars, synthesizers, vocals and a cpu to create a fresh fusion of techno, funk, jazz & soul for their smashing live sets. The guys love to work with other musicians like Maia Hauser/Pepita [vocals on "Electro Luder"] or Doc Steinhardt [sax/clarinet], S.Garcia/Wild Child/XS Bition [lyrics on Symbolic Dead] and Steve Wackerbauer [add. guitars]. In more than 15 years of conjoint musical adventures electric om and dUKE became a kind of auto-connected, which can be heard in their vibrating performances.
Oli Matte aka electric om plays various instruments: bass, guitar, piano, percussions and vocals. Since 1992 he was also part of B.O.M.B., Komaloops, STOM, CHROM, Vibrating Remedy and other fusion projects. Electric om is also a very experienced soundengineer, turning the knobs in certain recording-, broadcast- and live-mixing events. He is producind music for comercials s well as for other artists.
Uwe Klemann aka dUKe, an excellent guitarplayer with a very special & unique style is the perfect counterpart of Oli. He is also singing and playing percussions. UK studied guitar at mgi/munich and played in several bands over the last decades. Since 2005 he was resident DJ @tranceatlantico and @Asala in Brazil. He is also spinning aka tranceatlantico for many years mostly in South America.
With "put more jazz into techno" the electric om gang finally realized a dream, mixing jazz and funk elements with big fat techno beats and basslines. The drums are the only digital part of their sound, while the rest is manufactured analog music. All the basslines are pre-recorded electric basses, played back by a macintosh. The rest is absolutly handmade! The result is a very danceable mix of deep and funky tecjazz played live by these two guys. They always surprise the audience with spontaneous appearances of interesting musicians from around the globe.
