Biography

William's story...

born the youngest child of two blind parents, William Fitzsimmons was raised in the small industrial steel town of pittsburgh, pennsylvania. reared more on sound than sight, wee little fitzy was immersed in classical orchestral and organ works, 1970's folk, and elementary school recitals and christmas plays. his influences range from simon & garfunkel and nick drake, to contemporaries sufjan stevens, patty griffin, the postal service, and iron & wine. he is a multi-instrumentalist, and self-produced, with a penchant for including pianos, guitars, banjos, melodicas, flute... purchased your latest cd. recently i've heard so many acoustic song writers in concert....went and purchased their cd cause I loved the raw sound of guitar and vocals. When I listened to the cd it included a fully mixed band.....what? why? I wanted the sound at the concert..... So I listen to your music and FIND what I am after. Music that is raw. powerful. well written. simple yet not. THANKS. Finally someone who gets it.
