about +
As Ghost In The Water, husband and wife Nathan and Mandy Tensen-Woolery create intimate, charming electronic pop, suspended weightless between the twin poles of childlike enthusiasm and haunted memories. Like gazing upward at a star-filled sky while weighed down by the responsibilities of the everyday, their music is simultaneously uplifting and bruised with longing.

Nathan and Mandy also comprise the well-loved Minneapolis band Fitzgerald, who have continued to gather a strong following along with praise in the indie press. Ghost In The Water came into life after Nathan wrote the song ‘Clean Sinks and Folded Laundry’ for a friend’s animation in the spring of 2006. The friend left for the wilds of Omaha, Nebraska, leaving Nathan with a song and no animation. ‘Clean Sinks and Folded Laundry’ opened up a raft of new musical possibilities for the pair in terms of both composition and sound – and Ghost In The Water was born.

Appearing on stage primarily as a duo, Ghost in the Water seeks partnership with a tangle of extension chords, synthesizers, samplers, guitars and their ever present vocal harmonies. 2008 will see them taking to the road regionally and nationally.
