Kylie went on to have the most consecutive UK top ten hits of any new artist. However, Kylie left PWL and Stock Aitken Waterman in 1992 and signed to Deconstruction (through BMG). Despite receiving critical acclaim and working with “credible” artists like the Manic Street Preachers and Nick Cave, commercial success was not forthcoming. Leaving Deconstruction “by mutual consent” Kylie spent a short time in the musical wilderness before pulling on a pair of gold hotpants and returning to her pop roots with the #1 hit “Spinning Around.”

Her biggest hit to date is “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” from the globally successful album “Fever.” Kylie has become one of the most successful Australian female artists in the world with number one hits spanning three decades. In 2005, midway through her Showgirl Tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. It shocked both fans and ‘non’ fans alike and the support was overwhelming. After a tough 12 month battle, in early July 2006 she announced rescheduled dates of her now titled Showgirl, Homecoming Tour along with extra dates to bring the show to Wembley, London, for one week only in January 2007. The Showgirl: Homecoming Tour was extended for another week in January to Manchester, where a number of nights were rescheduled due to Kylie & her crew being unwell. The Tour is now over, and Kylie is recently working on new album material, even some tracks called ‘In My Arms’ and ‘Fall For You’ leaked to the internet.

Although more prominent in music these days, Kylie makes an occasional return to acting, her latest project being her well publicised appearance alongside David Tennant in the Doctor Who Christmas 2007 episode ‘Voyage Of The Damned’.

On November 12th 2007 Kylie released her long waited new single “2 Hearts” where it reached number 4 in the UK chart, the highest it got to in any chart was Number One in Australia. Not long after Kylie released her latest studio album “X” which already has had brit nomination for Best International Album. For the album she teamed up with many people including Beyonce’s friends the Freemasons and disco creator Calvin Harris to make one of her best albums of the 21st century. (-) collapse
