Lunic began in 2005 when a broken-hearted and somewhat disenchanted Kaitee Page wrote her first song. Having worked in some of America’s most notorious strip clubs since age 19, it was while living in Los Angeles that she finally reached a breaking point…

And out came the songs. One after another, tales of hedonism and heroism, depression and addiction, passion and repression, stolen youth and borrowed love, fantasy and power/powerlessness - the kind only a woman standing naked in front of a ravenous crowd can feel.

Lunic’s first album, Skeletons, is the naked truth. Confessions of a dark, secret life aching to be heard yet tiptoeing so as not to wake the venomous demons completely. Her follow-up EP, Splinter, is a reflection on this time and a bitter realization that the wedge a life of secrecy drives between the keeper and their loved ones is inevitable, and perhaps irreparable.

Taking reference from the greats such as Muse, IAMX, & Placebo, Page wraps sorrow and triumph in contagious melodies and poetic, guilt-ridden lyrics. Easy comparisons can be made to the quirky, sweet lullabies of Tori Amos and Regina Spektor or the angst-ridden aggression of the the Dresden Dolls or Alanis Morissette, but with her uniquely raw, straight-from-the-gut interpretations, Page creates a sound entirely her own.

Having not set foot in a strip club since 2007 Page is thankful not only for the catharsis that is songwriting but also for the opportunities that have come her way through music. She has been lucky enough to share the stage with artists such as Mariah Carey, INXS, Meiko, Hypernova, Soular, Nanuchka, Porcelain, Lily Holbrook, and Julia Marcell to name a few. In 2008, Lunic completed their 3rd US tour and played extensively throughout the UK, Italy, & Canada.

Unexpectedly after tour, UK immigration refused Page entry into England where she’d been residing for over a year. Having nowhere to go, touring bass player Mike Murphy offered up his basement to her. Aching to collaborate, Page and Murphy began writing songs while living together, just for fun. Their collaboration made them realize their overwhelming natural musical chemistry and the two decided to write and record the next album, Lovethief, together in New York with producer Peter Denenberg (Spin Doctors, Deep Purple, David Bowie).

Lovethief has already pre-sold 5000 copies worldwide and is due out Spring 2009.
