Macarga are a four piece metal outfit from Bournemouth in the south of the UK. Using elements of doom and sludge whilst combining traditional metal riffs, upbeat tempos and varied timing signatures, Macarga are a well placed product of contemporary extreme music.

The band has been together for just over three years but is the amalgamation of experienced musicians who have been playing in different metal bands for over nine years. Mart (bass) was the main writer and vocalist for local heroes Bury the Silence. James (guitar) is the main writer in the band and has been writing, recording and experimenting with music for over seven years, he also wrote for and played guitar in Bournemouth rock outfit Dead by Sunday. Pete (front man) was the vocalist in Cthulhu and has been a vocalist for over six years. Liam (drums) has been the main writer and musician in one of Bournemouth's more popular metal bands, Summa, since 2000. Their experience and individually varied influences have resulted in the pro-active group of people that make Macarga something different.

The five tracks on the EP were recorded, mixed and mastered by the band themselves.
Eager to play as many shows as possible and share their music with a wide audience, the band are well underway with material for the full length album which will be recorded early 2010.
