MAGNUS HITCH

Sherman Oaks, CA

about +
San Francisco, CA – Magnus Hitch has unveiled its new single “Nothing to Hide” from the trip-out that is the band’s self-titled, full-length debut. The group’s heady progressive psyche rock pulls heavily from the acid-inspired rock of back in the day but also culls plenty from the new wave scene. And it’s all wrapped up in a post-modern sound that bends time and space and even features a dollop of pop accessibility.

“Nothing to Hide” is a fuzzed-out but focused batch of psyche energy that brings all the band’s major influences to bear under their artistic magnifying glass. Earnest and edgy and a transcending trip through rock, “Nothing to Hide” is a hip-yet-brainy musical excursion. But this is only the beginning. The album as a whole is a journey, with many aural secrets to be revealed along the way.

“The single is representative of many facets of our sound – as much as one song can hope to be,” says Magnus Hitch., “but there are many other facets revealed throughout the disc.”

The first meeting of Dave Farina and David Powell planted the seeds for what would become Magnus Hitch. After jams sessions and much discussion, the collaboration bore fruit based on the realization that both artists were on the same page. A bassist was sought out, material was put together and the shows began. A little line-up tinkering followed and now the group is complete with Dave, David and Paul Hiller on bass.

The new album demonstrates much growth on the band’s part. It is a more ambitious recording than the earlier EP. Partly, this is due to Magnus Hitch’s being able to enjoy the luxury of more studio time this go around.

The band has played a number of prominent San Francisco venues and is currently working with A&R; Select, the world’s leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA.
