Guitar started as a collaborative project between Mikhail Galkin, who has released "One Day" on Tres Records as DJ Alibi, and Tai Lee, a guitarist and member of the Toronto rock'n'roll outfit The Best. Tai and Mikhail started writing songs and recording them in Mikhail's studio, while heavily incorporating samples and breaks into the mix. The process and sound was unusual, but people dug it, and the two artists decided to invite a drummer and form a band. Dan Rios, a drummer with a jazz background was a friend of Mikhail's, and after the first jam together Guitar was fully formed. On March 14, 2009 Guitar put out their first record entitled "We Respect And Validate That". As part of promotion, Guitar has put the record up to download. So get it, and hopefully you'll enjoy listening to it as much as Tai, Mikhail and Dan enjoyed making it.
