"Wildwood Flower" is usually attributed to the Carter Family. It was actually a 19th Century parlor song originally entitled, "I'll Twine 'Mid the Ringlets". Written in 1860 with words by Maud Irving and music by Joseph Philbrick Webster, this is a classic American traditional in the Public Domain. Some of the original lyrics have been restored here in Foote's rendition.
