Jennifer "Nesi" Chianesi is a 20 year old singer, rapper, and songwriter from Cranston, Rhode Island. Nesi decided to leave Quinnipiac University, where she was studying Communications, after only one semester and focus all of her time and energy on her music. That first semester she was there, however, she found a producer in New York City (Mike “G” Guerriero of Gem Music Demos) to help record 2 demos. From there, the rest is history.
In the summer of 2008, she won grand prize in the Essence Hip-Hop Songwriting contest held by Berklee College of Music, winning the chance to learn about the music industry there, all expenses paid, during a 5-week summer program. Her song, “Shake Up”, was selected by a panel of hip-hop celebrity judges- Yo-Yo, Pete Rock, and Roxanne Shante- and a handful of Berklee scholars. That summer she also auditioned for Ronald Lopes (brother of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC) in Atlanta at UNI Studios.
She is currently attending Berklee College of Music majoring in "Music Business, and has just become a part of the Big Noise Entertainment family in Providence, RI. Recently, she was placed on the Official Ballot for the 2010 Grammy Awards by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in the following categories: Record of the Year (True 2 Me), Song of the Year (Shake Up), Best New Artist, Best Rap Solo Performance (True 2 Me), and Best Rap Song (Shake Up). She's ready to change the world with her "'lyrical miracles"... are you?
