NightWatch performs progressive rock with a hint of blues at the edges. Their original work blends powerful lyrics and innovative arrangements that both move the soul and grab the interest of the discriminating listener. Their musical style is balanced between hard driving rhythm and lead guitar, intricate piano and classic B3 organ, in-the-pocket bass groove, strong male and female vocals – all punctuated by a rock solid drum beat. The play list is primarily originals – including selections from their first CD “First Name Basis” and newer work – with the occasional cover: Free Ride (Dan Hartman, Audio Adrenaline arrangement) and All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix arrangement).
NightWatch was founded in 2004, played and recorded as a 5 piece band in 2006-2007, and developed into the current 6 piece band in late 2008. Founding members Matt Jacobsen (drums), Abbey Jacobsen (vocals), and Steve Puterbaugh (guitar) welcomed the creative lyricist, lead vocalist, and guitarist Nate Eichelman in 2005, talented bassist Jordan Jacobsen in 2008, and the extraordinary keyboardist Tim Ogden in 2008. Their first album “First Name Basis” was recorded at Refraze Recording Studios in Kettering, Ohio. Most recently, demo tracks highlighting the current musical style were recorded at Riversong Recording Studio in N. Lewisburg, Ohio. NightWatch has been active playing in the local area at the following venues: Clark County Fair in Springfield, Ohio, Clark County (Ohio) Relay for Life, Family Fall Festival in Marysville, Ohio, Fellowship Christian Church in Springfield, Ohio, Heritage Festival in Moraine, Ohio, Illumination Battle of the Bands in Greenville, Ohio, Mustard Seed Café in West Jefferson, Ohio, Popcorn Festival in Beavercreek, Ohio, Strawberry Festival in Troy, Ohio, and the Summer Arts Festival in Springfield, Ohio.
