Brian Cook, Rebecca Scott, and a drum machine formed Panda Riot in July of 2005 while working on a short film.  The underwater scenes and airplane shots inspired a blissful, swirl-pop, sing-along, sonar sort of aesthetic that was so delightful, they made a band of it. After moving to Chicago in August 2007, they found Justin Cheng, the band's bass player. Rebecca's ghostly vocals waft above the dancy drum machine beats, dub bass lines, blown-out guitar booms, and a keyboard plugged into a death metal pedal.
