Psychic Ills are a Brooklyn, New York based psychedelic space rock group formed in 2003 by Tom Gluibizzi and Tres Warren. As a duo they released the limited LPs Mental Violence I in 2004 and Mental Violence II in 2005. Both recordings will be later reissued as Early Violence in 2006. Elizabeth Hart and Brian Tamborello later joined the group and as a quartet they released their first full length album called Dins.

Their sound can be seen as a combination of the drones of shoegazer bands, the psychedelic aspect of 80’s and 90’s neo psychedelic bands, the energetic playing of punk bands, and ambient textures as well as many other genres with the same flavor. If you’re a fan of drug-influenced genres, then Psychic Ills won’t be out of place in your collection.
