Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Robert Francis Maston records and performs under the abbreviated “R.F. Maston”. On mostly broken and antiquated recording equipment, Maston builds his songs up track by track, painstakingly layering each instrument. The results have been described as “quietly intelligent pop, with focused lyrics and a genuine sense of the importance of melody”. Maston’s songs display a maturity that defies his 20 years and carries with them the sound of his native Southern California landscape.

THE FUTURE is R.F. Maston’s debut album, the fruits of seven months of labor hulled up in his home-studio. Playing every instrument himself, Maston’s songs come to life with the full band arrangements present on much of the album.
