I have been playing the piano since kindergarten, but quit taking lessons after about 18 months because I didn't like being told when to practice. I started composing in high school, and started really pursuing it as I got older and acquired better programs and equipment. Although I've never had singing lessons, I grew up in a very musical family and pretty much learned by listening to them harmonizing.
Late last year I was offered a recording contract, which blew me away because I never thought my music would actually "go" anywhere. My first album, "Climbing," will probably be released late this summer, 2009. I will be flying to Oklahoma to record vocals in March, and then I get sent to an artist for the cover insert, then it's off to marketing and production... The whole experience (so far) has been amazing, and one I will never forget.
My music is difficult to put into a single genre, as I'm sure you'll notice from listening. I've been told it could be used in a movie soundtrack, or in a Broadway musical. I've been told it's of the ilk of Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli (although I would never dare to compare my meager voice to theirs). As a beginning artist, I would really like to start getting the word out about my music, because I think I have something unique to offer the music world. I encourage you to listen here as well as on my myspace page, where there are six songs available (www.myspace.com/justinmoore1977) If you like what you hear, spread the word; tell your friends and family. Feel free to leave your comments and pointers. I want to make music that people like to listen to. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Thank you so much! Keep listening!
