YOU CAN FIND ME AT STEREOFAME, UVUMI, AND AS ALWAYS, AT CCMIXTER.ORG.

Some know me as SackJo22. Some know me as Susan Joseph. Some know me as Susan Ackerman. However you know me, I am a singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, who is reemerging musically after many years spent exploring the pleasures of a bourgeois lifestyle. I am enthusiastically involved with ccMixter.org where my a capella songs and spoken word tracks are frequently remixed, and where I host a bi-monthly podcast called The Mixin’ Kitchen (available through iTunes or directly from ccMixter.org). I develop and record original arrangements of my material as Mrs. Joseph's Kitchen, which is an evolving entity. Without a preconceived musical niche, the meaning of the songs dictates the mood of the music allowing for limitless creative opportunity. The songs uploaded here are generally demos crudely recorded in my garage with limited technical resources. I have recently been lucky in that Spinmeister, a terrific producer based in Vancouver, generously and enthusiastic did some remixing and mastering (i.e., Mirror). Some might remember me from my early days as "Susan Beef," one of the founding members of The Beef Sisters and a fixture on LA's acoustic scene in the mid-1980's. Subsequently, I played a number of LA venues with my own band under different monikers, most notably "Susan Ackerman and a Fine Band" and "Dr. Bombay." More recently, I have performed with David Shapiro and Haskel Joseph in "Too Darn Hot," an acoustic combo featuring standards and original songs with a jazzy feel.

I also host The Mixin' Kitchen, a bi-monthly podcast over at ccMixter (and availabe on itunes) featuring music curated from the ccMixter archives.
