Seris is a progressive math-metal band with djent stylings from Denver, CO. Our name is pronounced so it rhymes with that one famous city in France. We like pi, the Force, chiaroscuro, and steam-powered elephants.

We became a band because no one else was writing the kind of music we wanted to hear -- music which defies the status quo, severely deviating from majority of what is heard on the radio today. Most of what we do rhythmically is based on mathematical formulas. Only, we try to mask that fact and instead create sounds that the average listener wouldn't know isn't in standard time.

Taking elements of dark and artistic progressive rock and adding a very deliberate odd-time metal feel serves as our musical foundation. Fusing this progressive edge with a powerful and haunting female voice was our way of deviating from the norm of "metal vocalists." We're trying to create something which shines with the polished, aggressive technicality of experienced musicianship, but is still beautiful and speaks to you, pulling you in through its raw emotion.
The result of our endeavors is what you're hearing now. We released our debut 3 song EP in 2010, and are busy planning a tour for the Fall of 2011. We hope you enjoy what we've created, and maybe we'll see you at a show sometime soon.
