In a time of ever-changing music trends, Drivn is a band that will sustain any trend or fad. Listen to a Drivn cd and you will hear a hint of Led Zeppelin with a touch of those "big" Queen harmonies. Or maybe you will hear the mystique of Deep Purple with the spice of Guns N Roses. Mix all of the above with a twist of modern rock and you have an undeniably talented and hard working rock band.
This dominating rock force from Southwestern Virginia began stirring the local music pot in 2003 quickly gaining a huge fan base and packing out local bars. Soon, Drivn began to pack clubs with capacities up to 2,000 then moving on to festivals in front of 10,000 or more people opening for acts such as 38 Special, Drivin' N' Cryin', and Puddle of Mudd. They've come to sell over 6,000 copies of independently released cd's, and have been interviewed on several regional radio stations and television programs.
The Drivn live show is what has caused such a buzz in the music industry. With high-energy performances comes a show of dueling lead guitars, four part harmony vocals, and an occasional drum solo all under an intense show of lights and fog. With influences by groups such as Kiss, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Guns N Roses, Drivn is resurrecting the visual aspects of a true rock show.
Drivn's current self titled album truly has a song for every mood. From the beautifully orchestrated, heart-wrenching song "View From Heaven" to the thunderous guitar roars of "Nature of the Beast" there is a song for every music fan. The album was produced and engineered by long time Sony Records producer/engineer Gary Cirimelli. Cirimelli, who worked with artists such as Mariah Carey, Train, Luther Vandross, Dusty Springfield, Journey, and many others, helped push the band to their fullest potential to create an album that defines a fresh new sound and originality in the rock industry. "Sounds more like a greatest hits album than a debut!" Jeff Moore (singer-songwriter, producer)
