The Arch Enemies began as a rotating cast of backing musicians behind music composition student Steve Goldberg. His senior thesis, a full-length album a year in the making and featuring a cast of 20-odd musicians playing everything from harpsichords to French horns to vibraphones, became the band’s debut release. The lineup eventually solidified into a rambunctious quintet that includes drums, guitar, violin, trumpet, trombone, synth, and 4-part harmony. Influenced equally by 60s chamber pop, 90s indie rock, 18th century art music, and drugs, SG&tAE have since been impressing and perplexing audiences all over the galaxy with their infectious tunes and clever lyrics.
