The Energies is singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nick Nicola. Nick writes and records songs in his studio ‘The Energy Station’, whilst immersing himself in 1970s sci-fi movies, old philosophy books, classical mythology and astronomy.

The music has a warm, organic feel - nostalgic yet emotive - and the evocative lyrics contain references to childhood, existence, social relations, time and the universe. It’s profound but unpretentious, lyrically thought provoking yet musically accessible. Musical inspiration is drawn from a variety of sources. Nick’s guilty pleasure is ABBA although if you ask him he’d probably say he’s influenced by The Beatles, New Order, Cat Stevens, Pink Floyd and Ziggy-era Bowie.
