The John Benjamin Band (The JBB) is a one-man in-home recording project created by John Benjamin (JB), a product manager for an ISP in Atlanta, GA, USA.

JB didn't grow up wanting to be a product manager for an ISP in Atlanta, GA, USA, however. When he was 12, he wanted to be a lawyer. Throughout high school, he wanted to be a filmmaker.

Lacking the requisite drive and willingness to accept rejection that are part and parcel with success in the entertainment industry, JB went to school to become a music teacher, an occupation which, upon graduation, he decided he wasn't nearly old enough to perform successfully. And so he started working "in computers", as he is wont to describe his vocation when chatting with relatives over cookies and eggnog in December.

The JBB was foisted into existence in 2001, when JB discovered Song Fight!, an online songwriting competition. For the two or three years prior to that, JB had been writing songs for his own amusement and the infrequent suffering of friends and family.

The band's name is derived from JB's first name, John, and his middle name, Benjamin, as his surname is somewhat blunt and unpoetic.

In 2003, JB became one of the administrators of Song Fight!, a responsibility he maintains to this day. Aside from helping to run the site, he is a participant as well, with over 40 entries to his credit so far as The JBB and a variety of other pseudonyms.

While live appearances of JB are infrequent, the JBB's music was recently used in the highlight film for the National Science Olympiad, and The JBB was one of three participants, along with Frankie Big Face and ADD Music, in the original "Album Fight". JB likes playing stuff on friends's stuff, and has dropped hot kazoo for Frankie Big Face, and cool 'cello for MC Frontalot in his time.

The homepage of The JBB is waiting to fill your browser with glorious auditory delight.
