Biography
Best known for their recording of Richard Berry’s “Louie Louie”, considered by some to be the ‘party anthem of the universe’, The Kingsmen’s cult hit was recorded for $36 and became a national hit in 1964. Whilst US fans campaigned for the track to become the state song for Washington, its immortality became inevitable when it was banned from the radio and investigated by the FBI for what were considered lewd and immoral lyrics.
