NASHTY:

Nashty enters the music industry with a fresh insight on new music. His metaphoric writing ability allows lyrics to tell a story without telling a story. Nashty’s writing influences include Jesse Lacey – Brand New, Neil Young, Chris Carrabba - Dashboard Confessional, Method Man, and Beastie Boys. His musical interests range from punk, indie, metal, and hip hop, and including such producers as Timbaland, Dre, Riza, and Da Rockwilda.

Nashty was born on May 7, 1983 as Matthew Nash in Hamilton, ON; the oldest of four brothers, all of which were grown in to a very artistic family. His mother introduced theatre, dance, and art, while his father incorporated singing and music into all areas of learning and life.

During his elementary years, Nashty played piano, until high school when guitar became his instrument of choice. Nashty was vocals for many high school rock bands before collaborating with Traxx to form the band Life Child. Life Child was a well known band throughout high schools in Stoney Creek and Hamilton, where they played at many venues.

Throughout college, Nashty kept his passion for music alive by jamming with friends and family, and writing music. In 2007, Traxx and Nashty reunite to form Theta State. Nashty also acts as assistant producer/song writer for Stickboy Productions.

TRAXX:

Up and coming producer, Traxx, is ready to take on the Canadian urban and pop music scene by storm, with plans on penetrating the United States. His musical influences range from urban super producer Timbaland, to the heavy sounds of The Used. His beats each have their own characteristics and can be carried over to any genre of music. To keep it “in the family,” he has worked with fellow Canadian producers and audio engineer Alfio Annibalini. Traxx co-wrote an instant single for up and comer Elias; entitled “Available,” which will be available on iTunes. He was also asked to provide his personal, musical talent to Jonny Roxx’s smash hit, “I’m A Roxxstarr. It became a hit single. He also co-wrote a smash hit for Lex, entitled, “Waits For Me.” Alfio is a long time friend, who has worked with fellow Canadians, Nelly Furtado, Our Lady Peace, The Tea Party and American rapper, DMX. They are currently in discussions to take Traxx’s beats to a commercially successful level. The two of them have a winning combination: Alfio’s connections and background with Traxx’s skills.

Born David John Mitola, in Stoney Creek, Ontario on February 22nd, 1985, Traxx, was given that nickname by his mother Julie, because all of his beats contained many layers of tracks. “I was listening to one of his songs and it sounded so put together; so complex. I asked him how many tracks he had put in the song. He answered with 76. I finally said that was his name from this point on, Traxx.” He was raised in a musical family living with his mother, father, John, and older sister, Vanessa. When Traxx was younger, his sister taught him how to play the piano basics and to this day he applies his piano skills in his beats. His musical influences as a young boy ranged from Michael Jackson to Korn and Bon Jovi to Bush. He eventually started playing guitar and had many bands and musical endeavors.

His most successful band was, The Silence of Ava. The style was rock with some “emo” influences. Before they reached local success, they were the opening act for Toronto rocker, Robin Black. After working many shows they eventually became headliners at the most popular clubs, The Underground and Club Absinthe. All the bands songs were written, engineered, and produced by Traxx in his home studio. Unfortunately, Traxx felt the bands musical creativity was not going in the right direction. He felt it was time to move on so he left to pursue a career in composing and producing. He also wanted to work with fellow Canadian producers and artists to breathe some new life into today’s music.

Before starting his career in Stickboy Productions, he was enrolled in the Trebas Institute, which is a leading sound production school in Toronto. There, he attended classes in MIDI, theory, songwriting and business. All of these aspects combined helped him develop what he has today, his own production company,
Stickboy Productions. Stickboy Productions, was born in January of 2007 as a small company. In this short time, it has evolved into an impressive studio, housing industry ready equipment such as: a Korg Triton LE Wokrstation, a CME UF5 MIDI controller etc; not to mention his constant upgrades of Sonar7 and Reason 4.0 applications.

In his downtime, Traxx enjoys riding his motorcycle (Yamaha R6) and staying physically fit. He follows a strict diet and strict workout regime. His style and personality translate from actions and words to his music; you can tell that he is serious about his work but can also have fun with it.

“If you have a passion in your life; then life will be your passion,” states the young, driven producer.

Canadian music will never sound the same.
