VONRENZO
Adam Luaces created VONRENZO as an environment to express his musical vision of unbridled emotional release. Lyrically clever with a tinge of dark humor.
Adam was born into a creative family in the Adirondack village of Lake George. He toured with his mother Sharon, a gifted vocalist, from the time he was 2-weeks old. His father Robert, a musician and poet, inspired Adam to write poetry and songs from an early age. Surrounded by talented artists, Adam garnered a deep appreciation for music and soon began his own personal journey.
Adam soon realized his musical vision needed to evolve and thus followed his instincts to go out on his own and form VONRENZO. With help from producer and songwriter Kyle 'Slick' Johnson (Modest Mouse, The Hives, Fischerspooner), Luaces created Intention and the Adequacy of Delusion in November 2006. Dark, gritty and emotional, this debut album captured the desperate sound of a life in free fall.
In 2009, VONRENZO headed back into the studio with bassist Nathan Brimmer, guitarist Pete Pidgeon and producer Kyle “Slick” Johnson. Joining the band in the studio were soul vocalist Michelle Cruz, cellist Colette Alexander (Rachael Yamagata, Rilo Kiley, Yo-Yo Ma) and drummer Robert Heath (Gavin DeGraw, Jill Sobule).
The result was an ethereal record, Indica Dove Sei, which offered a hopeful resolution to the stark questions posed in VONRENZO’S debut album. Through poignant lyrics that erupt with passion for love, loss, and life; a truly haunting collection of songs
