i don't know if this is true, but i actually heard that the song is about a friend of the lead singer's who was going through cancer. she's yoshimi and the pink robots are the cancer. gives the song a different kind of weight if it's true...

i'm so glad you like my cover, thanks for the comment :)

thanks so much! i'm really glad you weren't upset by that spamment (spam + comment, get it? i thought it was clever....but it's not...) :P

but um, anyway. yeah, thanks a lot, i really hope you like the versions of the songs on the album, as well as the new ones! and that's so cool that you listen to us, i mean, if no one listened, there'd be no point in making music so... really, you can consider yourself the reason i do what i do :)

thanks!

I completely accept your point about losing the acoustic feel and live sound of the original demo of Dear Liza.... I had grown very fond of those first recordings myself.

I'll be happy to send you an mp3 of the earlier version...or indeed of any of my songs. If you mail me I'll send the file on over: eoghan1[at]ireland.com

Hi - firstly, thank you so much for caring... It's great to think that somebody out there was listening on a regular basis.

Secondly, I'm sorry for taking all my songs down in one swoop - the reason is that I'll shortly be uploading new versions of many of them. I went into a studio with a band recently and did some "professional" recordings... still demos really, but with a fuller sound. I'm just waiting for the final masters and I'll start adding them here again.

In the meantime you can find a few of my tunes at www.myspace.com/eoghanosullivan - and I'll continue to post some of the acoustic versions as time goes on.

Thanks again - you've made my day!

:-)

Since you multibumped my song PERSEIDS, I just thought I'd let you know that the annual Perseids meteor shower is coming up. Best viewing will be between 2 a.m. and sunrise on August 12th. Enjoy!

Yeah, I noticed it, and it's annoying. Can't even thank people for bumping me unless they add my songs. :( I don't miss the spam and people whoring themselves out, though.

Abigail! LOL! The first song has the f-word in it! (Bill Reily...something...hates opera or something.)

Same difference. :{P (I really don't have a mustache, I don't think...I just felt that it would make the tongue sticking out that much more intense) ("intense" and "tongue sticking" out don't sound right in the same sentence...moving on.)
Ok so, it's really not the same, but that's what I meant...level. WHATever.

Insanely late response - I'm playing on a 1970 something Wurlitzer upright. It looked like this: http://www.fredmyers.com/images/358_1977Wurlitzer.jpg before it went up and down many flights of stairs.

Awesome, that is so cool! Thank you!! I hope you enjoy playing A Starfish Serenade!

Rebecca Oswald (level 13) wrote:

Yes! I wrote A Starfish Serenade at a time when I'd injured my left shoulder. My piano teacher didn't want me to quit practicing, and she told me to go write something for my right hand. I was playing it one day while wearing a longsleeve black shirt, and my pale hand looked like a starfish lugubriously doing (whatever it is starfish do) on the keyboard. Hence the title!
