Biography:

As most young, broke and starving musicians are aware of, these things take time.

For the last year, Acres of Lions has been in a state of contemplation, decision, revision and repetition. The process of writing good songs as opposed to bad ones and finding dedicated people who are willing to give it their all and stick with it was not at all easy. What most young musicians are ALSO aware of, is that it takes dedication and a good work ethic.

What started out as a misguided, teenage-angst ridden quartet, soon transformed into an energetic rock-trio that began to include the characteristics the band deemed neccessary to their existence as a musical act: Melody, volume, spontanaeity, odd time signatures and above all else, Energy. Songs about everyday encounters with people, films and television and love (as opposed to heartbreak) soon emerged, and the band went on attempting to develop their "fun and energetic" pop-Rock" sound. Currently, the band have incorporated a fourth member, Tyson Yerex (of Victoria's Moneyshot) to assist them in creating musical fusion on guitars and keys.

As of late 2007, Acres of Lions are performing live in clubs and various all-ages venues in the Victoria/Vancouver area and are working/demoing with local producer "Adam Sutherland" (theset, kincaide, counting heartbeats) on their future full-length album entitled, "I am a son, you are a daughter," rumoured to be released in early March of 2008, followed by vigorous touring of the vast Canadian outback or wherever else the road might take them.

As we have already established, these things DO take time to perfect, but Acres of Lions believes in you, the friend, the fan, the listener, to keep them alive and doing what they love best.
