it's not so much that i don't want to write christian songs it's just (and this sounds horrible to say...) i'm more inspired by emotional things that happen to me. i know that if i just sat down and tried to write a christian song or worship song then i'd just come up with something horribly overdone because i'm not inspired to be creative and say things in a new and interesting way. i have to...i have to really own an idea to write a song about it. i'm a christian, but lately i've got more questions than i do answers and it's ...well, i guess if i wrote something about that it would come out pretty ok, but i haven't been able to yet.

Well it's just a little thing I wrote for my girlfriend called "Lover's Prayer", I've never shown it to anyone else. I'll look him up, thanks :)

the 3d i do is closer to video games, but it's actually just used in training simulations, not very exciting, lol.

oh, and i don't care if you get a lot of posts on my wall, lol, i'm all over yours too!

Yeah, i've only written one poem i'm even mildly proud of, usually it's just a mess, the same is pretty true of my lyrics, haha.

um, the job was something i'd wanted to do when i was younger, i was really into 3d art like toy story and stuff, then when i was in college a friend of mine worked for a company that did that sort of thing, so it was just luck really that got me in here. it's pretty cool, but it's not what i want to do anymore.

hmm, i've never really thought about that, but i don't think you're wrong. i spend a lot more time on lyrics than i do music, but the lyrics also are a lot harder to get right, the music comes much more naturally to me.

and no, you're not bothering me and i'm not just being polite, it's great talking to you! :)

of course that's not too personal, you're so polite, haha :)

what do i want? well, beyond wanting to do something i enjoy for a living...i dunno, i haven't though much more about it. i don't plan on changing the world or anything. sorry if that's not what you mean, i'm not positive i understand.

yeah, i work full time at a computer company, doing 3d art. also going to college but the job kinda takes precedence. i'm 23, so, on the one hand i still feel like i've got plenty of time to "make it" but on the other hand i see these people like..connor oberst and kevin devine and so many others who are my age or a little bit older and have already made it and already progressed so much further than me as songwriters...but, i can't judge myself based on other people's success, just gotta hope for the best :)

no, i love poetry, i've tried my hand at writing poetry once or twice too. i'm usually too stupid to understand the really good stuff, but i love robert frost and e.e. cummings...but yeah, i don't consider myself a poet.
i absolutely LOVE playing music, and it's my hope that i will be able to make a living out of this. currently i'm just playing small local shows that don't pay much, so it's more for the love of playing at this point, but i really hope to be a career musician.
thanks for the interest, and for the vote of confidence! it's always so encouraging to hear from someone who thinks i have what it takes :)

i'm just doing my best to write songs that are meaningful to me and hope that other people like them too.

you're awesome, thanks so much for all the kind words

oh no! not getting old at all :)

i can't say that i have heard of that form of poetry, but it means a lot to me that you like my lyrics and took the time to let me know :) when i listen to stuff like ben gibbard or damien rice or iron & wine it just blows my mind and i know i'm not in anywhere near the same league as them. but i'll keep trying and maybe i can work my way towards that.

thanks again!

haha, no, i never have. that's a really great compliment though, thanks for asking :) i don't really think my lyrics can be called poetry, i feel like they're pretty cliche as it is, but if you took them out of context by removing the music it'd be even worse... but i'm really glad you don't think so!
