Mannequin City began as a solo project for Mathias Riffman after the dissolution of his previous band, Omega Weapon. After being burnt out on metal, Riffman used Mannequin City as an opportunity to express himself without the restrictions of being tied to one genre in particular.

"The Setbacks EP" was quickly written, recorded, and released in early 2009. Although it is rough around the edges, and is without a proper mix, it served as a blueprint for future releases.

There is no solid line-up for the "band". Instead, Riffman serves as the constant, and leader of the group, while also having frequent guests play bit parts on recordings. There is no live line-up for Mannequin City at this point.

Currently, vocals are being tracked for Mannequin City's debut album "Which One Is The Robot?". An early Summer 2011 release is expected.
