Biography

Atavan was started by Josh Goff and Christian Skirmont in January of 2007. Fueled by the energy and desire to make music their life, they broke out acoustic guitars, blocked their outside lives away and wrote close to 12 songs. After writing 6 songs they felt the need to have a drummer and bass player included to make their songs complete. You can beg for "bumps" but that gets really frowned on. The best thing is be yourselves and thanks the people that bump your stuff. That'll build a loyal fan base who'll tell others about you. I already told some other listeners about you. Don't upload a whole pile of tunes either! Space them out maybe; like post another one tomorrow then wait for a few days; otherwise you split points between songs and it doesn't have the same impact of a song with say 150 bumps which gets everyone's attention. The KRay pamphlet is really helpful and a listener acct. too. Keep you MySpace or whatever prominent too! Also the odd free download.

Great sound guys! Welcome to t61! You're going to do really well here I'm sure. Usually bands get a listener account too; it helps you to understand how the site works from the other side and allows you to get to meet other bands KosmikRay has a really good guide for new bands to the site.

Cheers!

*atavan goes really well with vodka too!
