My first foray into tracking was back in 1996, using ModEdit. My music languished for a while, until many years later I discovered ModPlug Tracker, which, as OpenMPT, is still my preferred tracker.

With the introduction of VSTs to MPT, my music really began to take off, as I discovered new effects and instruments that broadened my musical horizons substantially.

Near the start of 2007, I bought Native Instruments' excellent Kontakt2. For the first time, I could achieve the orchestral and pop sounds that I had always heard in my head. Every track that I've written since purchasing Kontakt has used it, often exclusively. It's definitely the best investment I've ever made. (-) collapse
