Interview with Fabryka

NINa (of Fabryka Industrial Rock webzine), with Marco Gariboldi, conducted an interview with yours truly. We talked about religion, economy, travel, nature, the meaning behind the name "Bullets in a Burning Box," the sailboat studio, and of course, music.

An Exit Album Release

An Exit is an evolutionary blend of distortion and danceability. It began as an experimental mix of drum 'n' bass beats with Afear's heavy guitars and distorted vocals.. The tempos have remained unaltered (mind you). Though, the vibe -- you will find -- is bent.

An Exit features two remixes of "Abaddon Threads" from friends:

low distortion unit
Paris (France). Makers of the soundtrack to "Alone in the Dark : The New Nightmare" (2001), they are Thierry Th Desseaux & Lucas_a. This remix is so very European and brutal!

Brokin Sticks
Medford, Oregon, USA. Brokin Sticks are a hip-hop group featuring the lyrics and beats of Kjohnn and Catalyst. Kjohnn and I grew up together in Oregon.. We chased girls, splashed in puddles and drove cars too fast. This remix sounds eerie and hip-hop-ish.

The track list:
1. Abaddon Threads (Low Distortion Unit) 3:30
2. Acetylene in Matryoshka (Burn) 3:10
3. Acannabinum Unfold (Blossom) 3:23
4. Absinthium Flow Ring (Become Human) 3:32
5. Abaddon Threads (Unrestrained) 3:59
6. Abaddon Threads (Brokin Sticks) 1:33

Note: the album originally included remixes of "Aarons Rod" and "Aepypterus Red H." However, I felt the overall quality/feeling of these particular remixes were sub-par. Therefore (rather than dull your ears) enjoy these creamy, top-quality, best six tracks.

biography
Bullets in a Burning Box makes brooding & explosive music. Singer/multi-instrumentalist and sole-member, Nathanael Matthias Weiss, chemically combines mean guitars, frenetic drums and emotional textures.

Bullets unleashed its debut album, Afear, in the winter of 2007. To gain inspiration for the self-produced album, NMW took a year-long hiatus, backpacking the world with a lyric-book and a change of shorts.

NMW (born Dec. 11, 1979) was raised in Southern Oregon. In his teenage years, he designed and programmed computer games. He began sneaking into the company audio-production booth late at night to record industrial music.

"Disentangle" is SWEET sir, absolutely sweet!
I really like how you built your songs and the way you sing.

And no, I'm not on Facebook but I use Myspace for my 2 projects.
Catch me there if you like. ;)

Have a nice evening.

Okay, sorry...I meant "I just have had the time to listen to Nine Ninths Jealous" actually.
Anyway, I really enjoy your songs and your remixes.

Excellent work.

I just have had the time to listen to "BBB" but just like my talented friend "Absolute Zero", I think that song is awesome.
Loved it.

I'll be sure to come back to listen to your other songs as soon as I can.

I think you'll like that one. It's... different, but then again, so is what "Stage 1" is all about. How've you been man?

Oh, and Absolute Zero is back up and running. New stuff: 'Bittersweet Cavalcade'. Much more melodic than my latest stuff, but of course it gets a little harder near the end.

I'm not the biggest specialist, but to listen to I prefer Shostakovic, simply because my ears prefer contemporary music. As far as respecting the genious goes, Mozart and Bach would have a great Battle and be superior to Shostakovic. However I think guys like Stockhausen are/were on the same level :)

Oh, but we can, I have been there :D
Still, the "Mozart-Year" 2006 was a really hard to bear for people living in Austria. They had Mozart-events in hourly intervals, they named everything after Mozart, even liquors, milk shakes, in some supermarkets applea are still today called "Mozart Golden" and so on ;)
In 2006 there was the 100th birthday of Dmitri Shostakovic as well, but nobody sold me "Shostakovic-Vodka" ^^
