Castaneda hails from the bustling and historical hills of Los Feliz, California. The electronic rock-pop quintet formed in early 2007 and has since been honored to play on various stages in Southern California – from the internationally-renowned West Hollywood venue The Troubadour to the Silverlake hipster mecca Spaceland.


Castaneda has made live appearances on major television sitcoms, and they've found their infectious and melodic wall of sound in various films and TV programs. “Radio”, from their 2007 self-titled debut EP, is featured in The Sims 2: Apartment Life video game.


The group’s songs have also graced the airwaves of SoCal radio stations including commercial giant KROQ and former Alt-outlet Indie 103-1, as well as tastemaker UC Irvine station KUCI.


2009 will be an exciting year for Castaneda as their new EP, So This Is What We’re Gonna Do, finds its way into the iPods and CD players of their growing fan base around the world...
