At the root of it all is the hyper-active imagination of frontman, Camden Chamberlain. For Cavedoll's latest release, No Vertigo, Chamberlain & the rest of his band serve up a hip-shaking burst of feel-good energy, inspired by '80s synth pop, electronica & punk.
The album opens with the infectious and explosive "Decoder," with a driving synth bass groove & Chamberlain's crooning voice singing, "you know you want it!"
No Vertigo takes a slightly darker, Cure-like tone on songs like "Cut in Half" & "Soma E Coup," while tracks like "The Past That Was" & "Now Is Our Time" are quieter & more introspective. But the urge to dance is still there."
Cavedoll is an organic collective of musicians with songwriter/ producer/ instrumentalist, Camden Ray Chamberlain, at the helm. The main contributors currently include Vanessa Angulo Chamberlain, Van Christensen, Jake Emery, Josh Wells, Zach Mason, Mike Sasich, & Terrance Halterman. Over the years other contributors have included Jamison Wilkins, Randy Herbert, Ryan Petersen, Cache Tolman, Kevin Ivers, Jason Rock, Josh Emery, Lindsay Heath, Gentry Densley, Denson Angulo, Wayne Burdick, Anthony Phan, Ryan Milligan, David Fetzer, Patrick Fugit, Ian Aldous, Christy Cloward, Scott Fetzer, Matt Farnsworth, Dave Chisolm, Joe Chisolm, James Bowden, Tim Phillips (aka Cathead), Mike Sartain, Alex Pappas, Tim Burgess, Jud Powell, Mark Kendall, Janet Chotia, Colin Short, Aaron Nelson, Allison Martin, Willis Clow, Josh Payne, Jason Steadman, April Che, Stephen Curran, Sacha Dzuba, Jason Estes, Levi Myers, and some I've probably forgotten.
