I am Mikael Hansson, but have been making music as Colab since I started with my older brother back in 1985 in Stockholm, Sweden. We never actually created anything of significance, but it got us both started making music.

At the time, we played on whatever we could afford (Roland SH-5 accompanied by a synced TB-303/TR-606 combo and recorded on a two-track Fostex with tape delay). We ultimately went separate ways musically, which led to me spinning off the musical style from industrial sounds to a more ambient electronic sound.

These days I do all my work in Propellerhead Record/Reason from my (very small) home studio in Toronto, Canada and seek out collaborations with people wherever good music can be found (ccmixter.org and others).
