The Comical Mishaps is a three-person band formed in the later days of 2004. Originally just a two-some, Andrew Kempf met Chuck Gowdy at a party, where he discovered he knew how to play drums. After a brief conversation, Mr. Gowdy was a now the newest member of the rock trio. However, due to Chuck's devastating enrollment into Penn State University, The Comical MIshaps have had to find a replacement drummer while he is away. Introduce Tim Gallagher, a hard-working man with a passion for music and drumming. We are a band that is very much focused on the music. We may never be famous, make a name for ourselves, or even have fans outside of our family or friend community, but as long as the music is still in our hearts, we will continue to do what we love so much. Musically our influences are a variety of bands, but some big influences are blink-182 and sum 41. Currently we are working on finishing up our first "album," which should be out sometime towards the end of the summer (hopefully). We have no official recording software. We use a borrowed six-track soundboard recorder to record the guitars and drums, and the bass is recorded directly into the computer. Mixing is done by either Andrew or myself (Tim) and is done using the program Adobe Audition. Our music may not be the best, or the most innovative or creative, but we put our hearts into it and what you hear on this website is the result of frustration, sweat, and hard work. So please do us a favor and listen in on what we've created.

Influences:

Our influences are from a range of bands, namely pop-punk, rock type bands. Some examples may be blink-182, angels and airwaves, or Sum 41. However, many of the members have a wide range of music styles which they enjoy, and we always try to bring some of those elements into our music playing if possible. We are not a band that is afraid to try something new and fresh. We are not afraid to leave our comfort zone and go for broke. Although we accept constructive criticism, we do not let the ideas of other's too strongly affect what we have in our minds as the way our sound should be. Needless to say one's ideas, good or bad, are always accepted. However we believe it is the band who makes the decision, not the listener, on how the sound should sound and progress.

Sounds Like:

Our sound is that of a typical teenage, modern rock band and has sounds ranging from simple power chords to varied picking and some tapping. The lyrics vary from sincere and honest to stupid and pointless. Everything you see and hear is our original work. The music, the lyrics, everything, has been written by either Andrew, Tim, or Chuck. Hard work, good chemistry, and lots of time and careful editing resulted in the songs which we have been so fortunate to have written and recorded.

Currently, we are unsigned, and probable will be forever, however we like to say we are under "We're Gonna' Be Famous Records." It does a lot for our confidence and our ultimate goal of being amazing and super famous. =)
