Cycorps is not an usual band it´s the attempt to create a rock opera with the participation of musicians and artists from all over the world connected through the WWW.

The basic idea was lend (or should I better use the word stolen ... ?) from the Ayreon project of the very talented Mr. Arjen Lucassen.

The (yet) unfinished story is based upon a fantasy/sci-fi scenario about a bet between „the machine“ (a kind of mental overlord to the galaxy) and the „time guardian“ it´s/hers/his reliever about the behaviour of the most weak species (in the time guardians opinion) in the universe during encounter an emergency situation.

There are 5 main characters going to be featured with own and coop songs, 1 observer (the machine, with no own songs but some textsections) and the advising (with an uncleared status if good or bad), discarnate character called „the myths“ as coop partners in some titles.
As a big fan of Ayreon since „Into the electric castle“ I can´t hide the musical closeness to Arjens project and after watching the DVD out of his newest release „01011001“ I asked myself if I could do something similar.
After answering this question definitely with „no“ I started writing a song called „Far beyond time“ which features two of the characters now used in „The machine“ and after some time passed by I imagined about this storyline and started working on it.
I don´t know if Cycorps and the idea to cooperate with artist throughout the WWW succeeds but if you give it a try I guess that we can create something pretty cool.
