OI! READ THIS!

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to my patrons. All three of you...

Seriously, though, I have no idea why anyone would pay for stuff you can get for free anyway, but the gesture is massively appreciated! Bless you, you big-hearted bastards!

I’ve created a new YouTube account, and I’ve uploaded a new video. Here it is:

I’ve decided to delete my older songs from thesixtyone. I’m really rather fond of them as tunes, but as recordings they kind of suck. Well, there’s no ‘kind of’ about it, let’s face it.

I hope nobody is too offended by my heart-stealing antics (they shouldn’t be, almost nobody has hearted any of them in the last 6 months) and if anyone misses them terribly they can find them at last.fm.

Cheers,

Dave.

Here’s a preview of the tune I will be uploading on Monday. I’ve actually changed it slightly since I uploaded, and may change it again.

As mentioned earlier, I wrote the bones of this a few months ago, unlike most tunes I write which I pretty much write as I’m recording them; maybe that’s why I can’t settle on a mix. Whatever… enjoy!

My faithful Twin ‘hit the homepage’ on the sixtyone in the wee small hours of this morning. It’s currently riding high on page 4 of ‘hot right now’, which, I suppose, makes it ‘warm right now’, which, I suppose, is something.

"Gerald" is sitting at the top of the "hot right now" page (18 June 2016), which seems only proper. Thanks for the new tunes, and for the downloads.

On the slim chance that you still monitor this account, I wanted to tell you that the61 has been restored to the old format (with artists' walls, easily accessible lists of new songs, etc.). Lots of the community came back too.

It would be GREAT if you (or your alter ego Ekho) had something new to share.

Hope you are well and that life is good.

I somehow missed your "Gleneagles" until today. It is another fine song, with a wonderful blend of guitar tones and styles. I also discovered two other songs of yours I hadn't hearted, so I remedied that! Cheers for the brilliant music.

I have to admit to be a bit partial to that song. I've covered it 3 times throughout my musical journey. I find your version to be fresh and the little twist's it takes are extremely intoxicating, for lack of a better word. They bring new life to a very old song.

God Only Knows, not sure I agree with your pop up. I do like the original as well. But this is better in other terms. Very cool cover indeed.

I love a good philosophical discussion... I've never liked verbing nouns (Bah to phoning, texting, I say!), and I particularly disliked the change to hearts and hearting because t61 already had a perfectly usable and unique-to-itself term in bumps and bumping. I think they messed unnecessarily with a good thing. That said, a bump by any other name is still a bump, and here are some more for your great music!

Wow Dave - My Faithful Twin is a killer. Just missed the first bump on it but still left generous hearts. You are an amazing guitar player. If you get a chance, go to my artist account ChordSlinger and give Triumph a listen and let me know what you think.

Cheers, Dave! Haven't been on this site much lately because I thought the recent changes were bollocks (hearts, for the sake of sweet Jesus, and a change in toting score that took away all incentive to bump older tunes). But I'm glad to see you back! And with a brilliant cover. Cheers for the great music.
