"I don't want to make music to buy shiny things, I make it to feel better and to help others feel better."
Hailing from the small town of Pain Court, Ontario, Danielle Robert is an emerging nineteen-year-old artist who brings a new light to the music scene. Her original songs are quoted as "earthy and organic" that have clearly captured her element.
Upon some of her greatest accomplishments in 2010, Danielle’s composition, “Julie’s Song ” was chosen to be compiled on the Moose Trax 5 CD from the Haliburton Broadcast Group. At the age of seventeen, her song received airplay on twelve different stations across Central and Northern Ontario. That same year, Danielle also appeared in an interview for an episode of “Musimission”, a show previewed on Télévision-francophone de l’Ontario (TFO), as she was followed backstage for the 6th annual “Quand ca nous chante” festival in Montréal.
In 2011, Danielle was given the opportunity to open for Canadian Indie Rock band, Will Currie and the Country French. That same year, she landed in the finals of Wilfrid Laurier’s Battle of the Bands and was featured at Maxwell’s Music House for the third Annual Aphrodite’s Series in celebration of women and music in support of the Bracelet of Hope Campaign. Danielle was later interviewed backstage with I.R.I.S Entertainment of Kitchener, Waterloo.
Danielle writes music when she experiences what she calls "pure emotion", a state of mind that is locked at the heart. She explains, “Experiencing pure emotion can be productive because it represents the moment in time when people truly respect what the heart is feeling...and such a crystallized feeling makes music that is pure.”
Danielle says rather than disregarding a feeling, she gives it a voice. "Then I can really let go and see where the angel of creativity takes me. Next thing you know, a feeling is put to good use and a creative product is brought to life."
What she believes as “God’s dream through her ", is to become an artist in order to spread important messages throughout the world. While pursuing her music career on the side, Danielle is currently studying music therapy at Wilfrid Laurier University. Danielle’s futuristic goal is to partner in a humanitarian project with her life-long friend she calls her “sister”. The two someday hope to open doors to greater assistance and care for the elderly in third-world countries through music therapy interventions. Through Danielle's future donations from music sales and with the help of Andrea's aspirations to a career in law, their future dream is to become NGO founders of "Old Love".
Danielle is currently working on her first EP which is anticipated to be released this year.
