DISCOFUNKEN

Rome, Italy

about +
Funken, meaning SPARK in German, is exactly how Discofunken, bringing a new generation of electropunk music, will explode into the scene.

Their music is an ingenious combination of funkrock, mixed with breakbeats and minimal techno.

Discofunken are currently on their second European tour after sharing the stage with worldwide recognised artists such as Peaches, We Have Band, The Horrors, Ebony Bones and Le Corps Mince De Francoise. These guys are well known for getting arses moving in some of the most well established music venues and club nights including L-Ektrica, one of the most infamous electro music nights in Rome as well as at the Estragon, an old favourite rock venue in Bologna.

Their revolution has been brought about in full force by Nel Nome Del Rock (side-by-side with Disco Drive and White Rose Movements) and by Lose Control.

Constantin Louis is the main producer within the group and is also working with other established artists as Tavrvs, Rodion, JFrank and Dawei to produce hits such as "Pain in the PA" (remixed by Frank Sent Us), "Phantomatic Fan" and the self titled track "Discofunken".

The self titled hit was chosen by director Marco Filiberti (Adored) to be used in his feature film "David's Birthday" (M.De Medeiros, Pulp Fiction) and has been nominated at the Film Festivals of Venice '66, Beirut '09 and San Paolo '33.

This Spring, their upcoming EP is set to be released containing the new singles "Straphanger" which was produced in collaboration with Rodion (Gomma,De/Eskimo,Be).

In anticipation, Discofunken are ready to set fire to the stage with a prerelease of their new tracks and remixes that you are all set to love.

The set, featuring tracks from groups you all know and love including Hot Seconds, Cat Claws, Breakbot, Vitalic amongst others, will explode on stage with the combined efforts of the immancabile Blitz inc., video graphics, live singers, Natasha rocking out the synth and other surprise stage performers.

In other words, it will be "Funken" awesome!!!
