You have a very nice voice (Mike Scott meets Thom Yorke!?). I find your rythm section to thin, though. I don't know if that is by design, because your drum patterns are, well, a bit lifeless in places. Maybe just not your focus, I guess. I think it might be better if you left it out of some songs alltogether, and just use percussion, OR make/use livelier drums that are allowed to be there (it feels like you're hiding them a little) To be blunt, I have heard two nice songs that could benefit from being edited to shorter ones.
I am actually not sure that this comment is going to land in the right spot, I do not yet understand this site so well - I also have no clue which songs I've just heard, but...
summarize: sounds nice but indeed as you say very rough, and it sounds like some keyboards couldn't hurt either.
I have the impression that I am being very critical, but I basically liked the songs I heard, I liked the general sound, but it could do with some musical 'bling' and a sturdier rythm section.
