To our faithful listeners,

We've decided to formally shutdown thesixtyone.com -- our servers will go offline at midnight, May 1st 2017.

Artist tipping and music purchases will be functional until then, so please spend any remaining credits by month's end.
A final payment will be made to artists following the shutdown.

thesixtyone was our baby for most of our twenties. We're incredibly sorry we weren't able to keep things going in the
right direction.

2007-2017

Thank you for being a part of it.

Farewell,

James Miao & Samuel Hsiung

This song lingers in my mind around the dark days of the old year. It's one of my Ziggy Stardust favourites. Happy New Year to you <3

Hello!

Today I posted two songs which make a pretty odd couple but I hope you'll check them out. "Island Eulogy" is an experimental all vocal composition and "Prize Winner" is my dorky version of a pop song I guess. Lyrical content is meant to be satirical and is based on girls room talk after too much to drink.

Thanks for listening,

Erin

Hahah - being "inspired in a non-academic way" is good. Very good. I think of that as the holy grail of writing music - you need to incorporate influences and inspirations in an organic way, because if it's forced, people will notice.

I'm back to listen today, and it's just as good as last week. Congrats on all the success here.

Whooha. The soundscape for Island Eulogy is mind-boggling. Complex and approachable at the same time. Very clever. Smart without becoming gimmicky.

Absolutely terrific stuff.
