"Island" makes me want to open a bar in the middle of the desert and charge people to bathe in 110-proof whiskey. damn, this is awesome.

Soundscape is a dangerous word. It's being abused quite a lot, e.g. when people are listening to slow Sigur Ros pieces and automatically are thinking of icelandic landscapes. Sigur Ros however usually deny that their music has anything to do with soundscaping their landscapes, apart from actually being icelandic, so you can't completely delete those traces.
The other problem is that a good musician just knows which chords sound beautiful, this is often abused to a point where it becomes kitsch, like in much of the sound people call romantic piano solo ;)
In Aurora Borealis you perfectly evade both dangers. I don't know how you did it, but you really composed the Aurora as it is. You also evade anything that could be, even a little, named kitsch. You don't go for the pathos or the cheap effect. Every good musician could easily go for the romantic effect, but you didn't, you created a nearly perfect ambient soundscape.
Man, I can't stop listening to it :)

Cheers,
Julian
