“Love Blooms in Even the Darkest Places”
Effortlessly blending the traditional elements of indie, punk, rock, and metal with raw energy and emotion, Flowers For Lily have created a uniquely dark and melodic sound that majestically surpasses the preceding alternative underground.
Flowers For Lily caught national attention in 2009 by landing a spot at the Big Day Out festival, as well as being nominated for an Independent Music Award, an international honour sought after by bands from five continents.
With two independent releases already under their belt, the four-piece have since gained a reputation as a 'band's band', drawing respect from a growing number of bands and musicians, notably including TheArt, Mz Ann Thropik, and Sydonia. While garnering community radio play from all corners of Australia and yes, the world, Flowers For Lily may have been all but ignored by critics - but their ever-growing fanbase and musical contemporaries have sat up and taken notice.
Flowers For Lily have also appeared on the ‘Lip Service’ soundtrack, and featured on 'Powercruise' DVDs 14 & 15, as well as BLUNT Magazine's "LOUD NOISES" collection.
In a successful finale for 2009, the band performed at Brisbane’s “The Valley Transmission”, and released a three-part documentary of their latest recording journey.
Flowers For Lily return to the stage in 2010 as part of the lead-up to their latest release - a much-anticipated new recording tentatively titled "Suspenderboys".
